Skiing at Vogel

The Vogel ski slopes are only a 5 minute walk from Bohinj Chalet (and in a good season you can directly ski to the front door. There is a gondola lift which takes you to the slopes over looking Lake Bohinj. Vogel at 1500 m has 35 km of slopes with 30% classed as beginner, 50% intermediate and 20% advanced. The longest run is 8km.


Typically as in 2005-2006 the ski season lasts from mid-December to early May. There is one cable car at Vogel, 4 chair lifts, 4 drag lifts with a maximum elevation of 1200 m. As Vogel is in the Triglav National Park, artificial snow is not used giving a natural and authentic experience.


Vogel provides spectacular views of Triglav and Lake Bohinj. There are 5 mountain café/restaurants, and as there are 3 ski schools at the resort equipment can be easily hired.


Vogel can be described as a refreshingly quieter resort than those of France or Austria. Best described as a refreshingly quieter resort than those of France or Austria, it is ideal for families who want to experience a relaxing ski holiday without the razzmatazz of discos or bar-upon-bar typically found elsewhere!  The great thing is that it is all on the doorstep of Bohinj Chalet.
